This report is a project of the Black Media Initiative at the Newmark J-School’s Center for Community Media.
It was created by a team led by Cheryl Thompson-Morton, director of the Black Media Initiative, that included: Kim Gallon, associate professor of History at Purdue University, who contributed to the research design; Emily Boardman Ndulue, senior researcher at Media Cloud, who was in charge of the Media Cloud tool, data collection and data analysis. Christine McKenna created this website and was in charge of design and visualizations.
